Jessica's Clothing Line
I don't think anyone can deny that Jessica's style cannot be beat. I own everything from her Dessert fragrance line to to Hairdo Extensions (I think I own roughly 20 pieces) to her handbags. The one thing I DON'T own is anything from her clothing line. The reason is simply this- I am a woman with curves. I've been every single body type you can imagine- from anorexic looking to what doctors referred to as "obese" (I don't think I was obese, but it started a diet pill abuse obsession that caused me to lose roughly 40 pounds of the 100 I gained after developing Multiple Sclerosis almost 5 years ago...and PLEASE no one get the idea to abuse diet pills from ME!!!). I am currently very happy with my body type. But my body type won't allow me to buy Jessica's clothes. Ever since I gained weight I noticed that celebrities with clothing lines fit into two categories- those who made clothes for EVERY body (unfortunately this would be from primarily designers of color- from Kimora Lee Simmons for Baby Phat to Nellie for Applebottoms) or those that made clothes for only ONE body type, who are unfortunately caucasian. I am appealing to Jessica to break the mold and recognize that the average American woman wears a size 14. And at 5 foot 8 when I was 114 pounds even then I sometimes didn't fit into a SIZE NINE because I've always had curves at any size. So Jessica if you do read this, please consider, as possibly one of the biggest consumers of your products, break the stereotypical mold!! Consider designing jeans that flatter a "ghetto" booty, even if you don't have one yourself!! And shirts that flatter real DD's that also have the tummy to prove the reality :D!! I realize I am a little older than the majority of your fans (although after reading some posts I am not sure if that is true...) but I don't think that I am a minority here when I make this proposition. Jessica Simpson means fashion forward, as the first woman to bring out a line of affordable, easy to use BEAUTIFUL hair extensions. I would absolutely be thrilled to see Jessica Simpson be the first person not of color to bring out clothes for the modern curvy woman who doesn't want to sacrifice style because of her body type!!
Brightest Blessings,
