APA- My review

This album didn't do as well as it could because of the single choices. I really feel that it could have been a success. Jessica had just gone through a divorce and her fans wanted real emotion. When she released 'A Public Affair' I was shocked that she was trying to make it seem like she was ok. I think Jessica wanted her fans to think that she was fine. We all know she was going through a lot. As her fans, we want truth and honesty in her music. She has always given us that in her previous albums and on Newlyweds. I understand that she probably decided it was best to keep her personal life out of it, but we love her because she lets us in.
Don't ever be afraid to share your truth with us Jessica. It's why we love you!

The most honest track is 'I Belong To Me' which wasn't even supposed to be on the CD. Meanwhile, Nick released songs from his heart and had booming success with his album. I also love 'I don't want to care'. You can hear the pain in her voice and it's beautiful. She sounds great in all the tracks. If I had been in charge of her single releases, it would have been... 1) I Belong To Me (this would have made people interested in hearing the rest of what she'd have to say in the album. 2) Fired Up. (I love this song. That would be the perfect time to say, yes I was hurt, but now I'm fired up. Also, it has a sound unlike any other Jessica Simpson song we've ever heard. It would have broadened her fan base to people who have never been interested in her). It also didn't help that she lost her voice for her promo tour. They should have done another round of live performances once she healed.

I wish her all the success in the World and I cannot wait to hear the next album (whenever that may be).
