I like listening to this album, but it can't be compared with 'In This Skin'. I feel that Jessica didn't really put her heart into this record. I can't understand why she would produce so many upbeat, fun songs shortly after going through one of the most painful experiences in her life. I can see that maybe she just wanted to forget about all of that stuff and have fun again through her music, but it just doesn't ring true to me. I'm not just referring to the lyrics, there isn't as much emotion in her voice this time. She doesn't use anywhere near her full range and her diction is poor. In some places it's really hard to understand the words.
On the upside I think 'Swing With Me' is a really catchy song and should be the third single, it would be great with an old style, black & white video and is different from anything else she has released. I love 'Let Him Fly' too, although it's a cover, I feel this is the most honest song on the album. I think most people agree that 'I Belong To Me' is the best song, but it's a shame that it wasn't included on the first editions of the album. It's not on my CD, but I downloaded it from iTunes.
Overall I think this was a good effort, but maybe rushed out too quickly. I think Jessica should have taken her time and brought out something more meaningful that represents who she is as an artist.
